Swissaustral has a distinctive proprietary platform that uses specialized knowledge of biology, biochemistry and molecular biology of extremophiles to generate innovative solutions for industry through the isolation and characterization of small molecules and other biocompounds which carry out unusual transformations under non standard conditions.

We are highly competent in biocatalysis with "extremophilic" enzymes, ranging from discovery up to complete (extreme) enzyme purification and cloning. This includes also development of protocols to discover and develop enzymes based on the chemical reactions our customers a looking for. This discovery/development encompasses other types of special bio-compounds as well, like bio-stabilizers, bio-surfactants, pigments, antioxidants to name a few. We are also knowledgeable in the topic of biofilms.

The base for this is our proprietary collection of extremophiles, at this moment 400+ isolates, most of them unique.

In addition to our technology our business model takes into account the new realities of biotech. One strand of this is the development of alliances that not only provide us with additional resources but also allow us to better understand the needs of our current and future customers.
