Athens, GA – June 5, 2015
Swissaustral will be attending the 2015 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology (#BIOWC15) from July 19-22 in Montreal, Canada. This conference is the largest international industrial biotech event, with over 1,300 attendees from 45 countries. A team of three members will be representing Swissaustral at this meeting: Dr. Jenny Blamey, Swissaustral CSO, Bernardita Chirino, Business Innovation Director Europe and Dr. Felipe Sarmiento, Business Innovation Director North America.

In addition, Dr. Felipe Sarmiento will be speaking at this event. Dr. Sarmiento will share Swissaustral’s expertise in the development of novel enzymes from extremophiles for industrial applications. The presentation will take place on Monday, July 20th during the morning session: “The Role of Enzymes: Cost and Performance”.

Dr. Sarmiento has a Ph. D. in microbiology from the University of Georgia, and extensive experience working with extremophilic and anaerobic microorganisms. In addition, he has worked for more than two years in business development for Swissaustral. Working for Swissaustral, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of industrial enzymes discovery and development, and the overall enzymes market.
